    Hi Eric,

Just to double check, are you able to go into the 3D Invigorator Set-Up window, create whatever graphics, click OK and the program crashes? Or are you getting a crash after selecting any options from the Start-Up menu? (Create 3D Text, Create 3D Primitive, etc).

    Hi Bruce,

What version of our plug-in are you working with? Also, what version of After Effects are you working with? If you are not working with version 5.1.0, please download this version from the page below:

If you’re still running into issues, please let me know.

June 1, 2012 at 4:23 pm in reply to: 3D Invigorator BEHIND After Effects 3D layers?

    Hi Mike,

Sure, 3D Invigorator PRO works with the After Effects layer hierarchy. This means if you have an After Effects layer placed on top of the 3D Invigorator PRO layer, then it will cover up the Invigorator elements until the After Effects layer is removed or made invisible.

    Hi Eric,

Is this happening with every project you are working on? For example, if you create a new project and create some 3D Text, does the program crash after clicking the OK button?

One thing to check is to go into the After Effects Preferences window. Go into the Preview section and be sure the “Enable OpenGL” option is not dimmed out. If this option is dimmed out, this means your graphics card does not support OpenGL. If this is the case, you will need to contact your graphics card manufacturer and double check to see if the card you are using does support OpenGL, or if you need a different graphics card.

    Hi Clive,

Sorry for the lack of response! Normally, I receive the support e-mails. However, I was out of the country for my wedding banquet, so Zax was checking the e-mails for me. I sincerely apologize that the e-mail was missed and you didn’t receive the help that you needed during the deadline. I have responded to your e-mail now, and hopefully will be able to assist you with any further issues that you run into. I know that it won’t help with the project that you were working on but am hoping that you will have a better experience using the software for future projects.

Again, I’m sorry that your issue was not resolved properly for your deadline. Please see my e-mail and see if it helps.

    Edward

  • Hi Georgina,

With 3D Invigorator PRO version 5.1.0, it’s currently not possible to have the shadow along with the reflection. The reason is because the Shadow Catcher/Shadow is what ends up being reflected and that is why the object does not show up. However, we’re close to releasing 3D Invigorator PRO version 6. Version 6 will include Ray-Traced Reflections, which will allow you to create the look you want directly within 3D Invigorator PRO! This means you can create a reflective floor that also catches shadows. There are also many exciting new features such as Ambient Occulusion for shadows, increased amounts of Sets and much more. Stay tuned for more previews of the new version of Invigorator PRO.

May 8, 2012 at 5:44 pm in reply to: CS6 And Proanimator Issues

    Hi Mark,

There’s currently a conflict with the Disk Cache feature in After Effects with how ProAnimator updates. If you turn off the Disk Cache feature in After Effects, everything should work without any issues.

We are in the process of fixing this issue and will release new builds that address updating when the Disk Cache is turned on.

May 7, 2012 at 7:39 pm in reply to: 3D eflector – Falloff causing see-thru walls?!

    Hi Mike,

No problem. I’m glad to hear that you were able to get through the issue.

You’re correct that when using 3D Reflector, the Falloff feature does not work with the 3D models in 3D Invigorator. At the moment, the only way workaround I’m aware of is to manually create masks in After Effects to create that effect. The good news is that we’re in the process of releasing 3D Invigorator PRO version 6. The new version contains Ray-Trace reflections, so you will be able to create materials in Invigorator that has reflections from other objects and you’ll have the ability to adjust the falloff as well! We’re estimating that the new version will be released in around a month. If you can hold out for your project, the reflections you’re looking to create will be easy to set up in version 6!

    Hope this helps.

    Best,
    Edward
