  • They are Prores Proxy files. I re-edited my original post a bit.

My idea of proxy is a file that connect to the original footage. It seems like prores proxy does not? They are just low quality files (I’d love to be wrong about this, but I think that’s the case). Basically, I don’t want FCPX to treat these prores “proxy” files as master files / source material.

and I have tried tricking FCPX by renaming a folder and relinking them to the h264 files (the 5d footage) but thinks it’s completely different footage.

Cool. I use protools… I use everything. Looks like a must have. I just jumped into FCPX and I love it.

Cool. I’ll get it soon, and report back as well.

I’d like to see more positive reviews in plugins like these and FCP X. It’s amazing to me that they (and apple) still put time into FCP X, especially when people thought it was dead in the water and people were timid in buying the product. These negative reviews on the release of FCPX sort of set a ripple affect that will probably take 5 years to undo. Maybe that makes them humble?… Maybe I’m reading too much Atlas Shrugged.

By the way, I’m using your tutorial for log and transfer. Thanks a bunch for that.

Fixed. I deleted my final cut preferences. Now it’s smooth.
