Did you do a search of the forums at all? I just did and found a bunch of posts about it, here’s a thread:

Have you read or even looked at the manual (page 1300 of the 5.0.2 on-line manual)? It’s all right there. It’s called Unlimited,
read up on it first, then if you have a question, post it here.

Depends on the station, but lots of broadcast TV (maybe most of it even) is MPEG-2 these days, but it’s
sometimes at a much higher data rate than standard DVDs. Ask them what the specs are, that’s always
the thing to do, evry broadcaster has their own specs.

And it will work right inside your QT apps, like Compressor, FCP, IMovie, QTPro, etc.

JVC was supported, but not 720 24P or 25P, until 5.1.2. You can use LumiereHD
or other products for older versions of FCP. But best to upgrade FCP.

I haven’t tried this myself yet, but someone suggested what I think is a cool idea:
Do as Jerry suggests, blow up the image by 133% and put it behind the 4:3 version,
so the viewer sees the unstretched full image but with a compatible background on the sides. You
might have to play with the background image (blur, saturation, etc.) to make it work
best.The best thing though is, scan the images at high enough resolution so you won’t
lose any res when you put them in the 16:9 timeline. I do a lot of stills with pans, pulls,
and pushes, and generally there’s plenty of extraneous image area top and bottom.
