Huge task? Hmm don’t like the sound of that!

It’s a flyover of a forrest clearing actually, so basically a lot of trees! That’s why I thought setting up some markers might be necessary!

Thanks again Michael. Since I have cinema 4d lite already I’ll go down that route first.

In terms of my drone footage, do you think in general there would be enough tracking points? I’m worried that everything is so far away that I’d need to setup some sort of large markers on the ground, which then gets me wondering what I’d use!

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply.

No I don’t, I was planning on just acquiring the 3D models produced by the separate firm and was hoping after effects had enough 3D capabilities. I’m guessing that i’m wrong?

    Thanks again

To further bug you Lakia (sorry!) As you can tell I am quite new to print (previously have been doing web and video design but beginning to get the odd request for print) and have just moved over here from overseas, so I am a bit unsure what to charge on things. I am meant to be producing 6 pages (2 of them just text) for an A5 business publication. Can I be cheeky and ask (even it is VERY rough) as to what kind of figure you or the general majority would normally charge? Or, do you charge an hourly rate and if so, how long would such a job normally take? I have done quotes online and I get back anything between 100 and 900 quid. :S

Wow, thanks for the fast reply, Lakia! I thought maybe you’d have to manually do that, but not sure. Great website by the way 🙂

Thanks Pat. All of this footage has remained PAL though.

I use DVD Studio Pro. The DVD doesn’t have any subtitles on it at the moment. I assume that I’ll need to remake the menu if I’m to add a subtitle button of any sort? If there is a way to keep the existing menu assets that would be great, but if not I guess the only way would be to take a screen grab and photoshop a remake of the menu background as best as I can and to remake the buttons? In terms of the DVD i figured that I’d need to locate each VOB file and what each is and to convert them all to MPEG2 and then add the new subtitle track. Am I on the right track? Thanks for the help!

Thanks. So as for the overall dvd project, in DVDSP where you select the formatting options, does it matter if I make it a 16:9 or a 4:3? Or is this just more of a global option to save you setting the properties of all the files and as you said, you can alter each one anyway?

Thanks Daniel. At least the tape isn’t damaged. I’ll just try and get my hands on the original camera for now. :d
