At 0:00:51:02 the opacity starts at 100% and then fades out as she begins talking. This is not correct. I ended up just exporting the clips that had a cross dissolve from FCP so that I could finish my work, but I would still like to know what the problem is so that I don’t have to keep doing this in the future.

I’m not sure what you mean, but I have the beginning point set at the beginning of the comp and the end point set to where I want it to end.

I’m basically trying to put a picture in 3D space in front of my camera at the right orientation. I’ve just been copying and pasting the attributes of the closest layer to the one that I am inserting and finessing it from there to look decent. Is there a better way? My camera has been moving all over the place and I just want to get the picture to drop right in front of the camera and I can move it back in z space and place it where I want it.

I have a sentence that I want letters to animate on in different ways. Like you said, I thought about typing each letter which is quite a pain. I also tried “create outlines” on the sentence and “auto trace” on the separation of each of the letters of the sentence. Both techniques work, but are very time consuming.

My real problem is that someone gave me timecode from quicktime where she wants the cuts, but when I throw it in FCP the numbers don’t line up. Why is the FCP timecode not starting at zero?

k one more question. Its bumping in z space now, but it is bumping AWAY from the camera on the bigger waveforms. How do I reverse this?
