opacity keframes backwards
I’m using Boris XML Transfer, but when transferred from FCP to AE, the cross dissolve works the wrong way. Instead of going from 0 to 100, it goes from 100 to 0.

What version of XML transfer are you using?

Make sure your import settings are set to Layers ‘Step Upwards’

We’ve taken a look at your XMl and it seems fine to us.
You have some cross dissolves at the beginning of clips and ones at the end of clips. Cross Dissolve would go from 0 to 100 for the beginning ones and from 100 to 0 at the ending ones. We can’t find any instance here that is incorrect.
If this is wrong please clarify.

At 0:00:51:02 the opacity starts at 100% and then fades out as she begins talking. This is not correct. I ended up just exporting the clips that had a cross dissolve from FCP so that I could finish my work, but I would still like to know what the problem is so that I don’t have to keep doing this in the future.

Can we see a screen shot showing the opacity values.
We see 2 dissolves at this point.
One ending at the clip and one beginning at the cut for the next clip.
Both look as expected when we import the XML???
Also, did you make sure your import settings are set to Layers ‘Step Upwards’ ?

It seems that the ones that fad out are ok, just not the ones that fade in. Every crossfade that came from FCP became a fade out.
