Alright: I ran into this problem last summer, I fixed it but I don’t remember how I did it. Below are two sample images of the same frame, one has been squeezed the other is in the correct aspect ratio. I want to export an image sequence from FCP7 and get the TOP result. I just tried it with a blank canvas and a solid color and FCP7 did the same thing, so I don’t think it is the actual video itself.
@Steve, Photoshop is an option but only if there is a way to Automate the job. There will be 800 or more frames, I am not going to scale each one by hand.

Yes After Effects is generally a better tool for color correcting than FCP, but!
You would probably get better results using Color.
Don’t know if you can get this footage looking awesome though, might be tough.

Oh boy… I had something similar happen to me last year. There are some sneaky FCP7 files hiding away somewhere else that you have to delete. Seems to recall ‘cache’ being involved. It was a really complicated process. Sorry i don’t have the answers in my brain any more.

Below is an image of the ‘item properties’ for the sequence i was exporting and the sequence setting for default sequence the final cut sets up.
Shot on DVCproHD 1080i/30
I seem to feel it has something to do with the ‘Anamorphic Check-Mark’.

Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for! Is there a way to get it to zoom with Inertia like the magic mouse does with webpages? Can’t figure that part out?

Ok…. again! Thanks for your advice all but I am really only interested in reading posts that are addressed to solving my problem! So ANYONE know how to bind a mouse wheel to the zoom command in FCP 6.0.6?
