Bezier handles! That’s what they’re called. I hate them when I don’t want them!!! I checked Adobe’s help and it says that you supposedly can only create a bezier handle when you close a mask by pressing ALT while clicking the first vertex. Not true!!!

    Hey Chris,
Just tried it. Same thing. The last point is all bendy. If I want bendy points I’ll click and drag. Damn you, Adobe.

Thanks, Jeff. I actually shrank down my jpg’s to 1920×1080 and saved as uncompressed .tiff’s and that improved performance by 1000%. If I run into further troubles I’ll do what you suggested but as of now things are running a LOT smoother. I’ll see what happens when I add my own green screen stuff to the mix.

    Thanks again!

Jeff – Same crappy computer I’ve been using for the past 2 years.

Jeff & Tero – Yeah I’ve been grabbing 3840×2160 images so that I wouldn’t have to resize, and be able to zoom in on them the same amount as my green screen footage. I’ll try your suggestions and report back. Thanks to both of you.

Gary Huff, just stay away from my posts, alright?

I believe I already helped him with his problem. Try to keep up, Gary. Once again you’ve ignored the original problem and chose to respond to something I said which has nothing to do with anything. But thanks for proving that YOU were the cause of the last problem we had.

  • Hey,
I only brought up my wrinkly green screen to point out that I could clearly see I wasn’t getting a clean key but, rather, my green screen was just turning black. I could still see the folds. That’s all I meant, not that it’s the fault of the green screen.

If it helps, my problem did go away and I’m still green screening with no problems. I’m sure you’ll get sorted out soon. As long as David Huff doesn’t come along to tell you he NEVER has that, or any other, problem, you’ll be ok (Inside joke). 😉

For that I’d wait for advice from the more experienced here. I’m just an amateur, although what I do is ingest “copy and create proxies” with the proxies being DNxHD… mxf files.

I don’t know if this will help but it’s a start. I have no problem whatsoever importing G7 4K, and, as you’ve noticed, no one else has reported the problem with GH4 footage, so it can’t be Premiere Pro. Possibly your SD card got corrupted? Have you tried shooting some quick footage in your kitchen or back yard on a different SD card and loading THAT into PPro?

  • I had this same problem upon upgrading (I’m on a PC). The background actually changes to black, not alpha black. I have a green screen with some distinct folds in it and you could clearly see them. I’m pointing this out because the first few people who tried to help me insisted that without a background layer of course it’s going to appear black, but it wasn’t transparent, it was my green screen in black.

Anyway I don’t know if this will help you but my problem got fixed by rebooting.
