btw, that render box always pops up when you render a clip for smooth playback. You seem to know your stuff so I’m not sure where you’re going wrong. I certainly am not qualified to help anybody here, all I can do is assure you my computer, which is a toy next to yours, has no problems. Sorry for two posts but it seems the ability to edit ones comment has disappeared.

The problem is you’re using bootlegged software. Red Gaint Primatte is fake. You want Red GIANT Primatte 😉
Seriously, I just got into green screen and have had no problems with Primatte, either in usage or in rendering. I rendered 2 30 second long clips in about 20 minutes each.
As you can see, I am hardly a professional. But, again, absolutely no problems dealing with Primatte.

UPDATE: Well, it seems if I click and drag, not on the top or bottom “button” but in the sliding area, it will raise or lower the layers, but it’s so delicate if I click too hard it goes from top to bottom with no scrolling. Just as irritating! What’s the deal here!?!

There’s nowhere to click. Either the top and bottom tabs, or the space in the middle. Nothing moves. It’s like trying to click on the image I attached. It behaves the same way in “real life”.
I never set any preferences so I don’t think that will help but I’ll look around for anything that says “Disable Scroll Bars” and uncheck it 😉

Thanks, Chris, I’ll check it out. I discovered the cause of the huge quality difference last night. We had a 5 second power outage a few days ago. Didn’t even have to reset the clocks. But it was just long enough that when my bedroom tv came back on the Picture Profile switched from the custom one I calibrated back to the factory default, which was way too bright, AND, way too sharp, hence the reason my video looked way too bright, AND, way too sharp! When I switched it back to my settings my video looked a lot closer to what it should have.

Yeah, I know, but how do I know if my monitor is calibrated correctly? Aside from that, as I’ve said before, my “art” is destined for my brother, and my 60 (where they came from I have no idea!) subscribers on youtube, so paying for a calibration is out of the question. The only reason I even started this thread is because my video looked so drastically different on my other tv. Not just color but the oversharpened green screen layer, which looked fine on the computer.
Anyway, for a cheapo solution, can I just calibrate my monitor to look exactly as the video file looks in my camera’s LCD? It seems if I do that, then my monitor will show the unadorned clip, any post I do on the clip should look pretty good on any other tv. Right?

Not sure why I can’t edit my posts anymore. Anyway, can you point me in the direction of a tutorial? My google search doesn’t bring up any that specifically deal with what I’m looking for.
