Yeah they should hire me because they need at least ONE person with a brain looking over what they do there, something they obviously don’t have.

Slowing it down to a rate that is a common speed for text does NOTHING to solve the problem.

Exporting the text as interlaced only makes the problem worse, and thank god for that because I’m not going to export the entire video as interlaced simply because Adobe can’t make text scroll, Premiere won’t even allow you to change a sequence that is already progressive into interlaced, but I bet you didn’t know that.

hm, you think the way they fixed the problem in Star Wars was making the film INTERLACED?

  • It can’t only be bitrate… some cameras just have better resolution independent of their “resolution,”

there has to be some explanation of what is happening on a subpixel level

  • Here’s an update:

The reason Premiere can’t export interlaced from my interlaced footage is because when you make the timeline 4k it will no longer allow the footage to be maintained in the original upper field first setting. Stretching 1080i footage into a 4k timeline will necessitate a progressive scan from Premiere that you can’t change.

    NO,no, no….

my system specs are 100% irrelevant.

The video is the same in premiere even when reimported, NOT the same outside of premiere no matter what the player. Why is that so hard for someone to understand yet they feel compelled to reply despite NOT having any clue what the answer is.

It is 100% inexcusable… INEXCUSABLE… why would premiere’s playback be able to reproduce a gamma that all over video players DON’T display???????

    no

The video looks the same when reimported into premiere

It looks different in anything that’s not premiere

Thus, no export setting would matter, no monitor calibration would change anything, scopes will change nothing!

  • What I found is Premiere can do it but it’s very fussy about whether or not it will even allow you to export interlaced (upper field first), because I use a template sequence with a common intro and outro they make it not possible… if I use interlaced footage to make a sequence, only then will it actually allow an upper field first export, regardless or me changed the sequence settings to interpret the sequence as upper field first.
