Not sure what your end use is, but Casio has the EX-F1 high speed camera for about $1K.

If you have Toast 9 or later, you can use that to transcode them to ProRes.

I agree. While I’d love to have the latest/greatest/best gear of all types, I have to continually balance price and performance, and ultimately the value to the customer. This is probably especially true in the corporate/industrial work where I make most of my money. With all gear, you have to know what it does and doesn’t do, and understand how to get the most from it to be able to deliver what the customer needs.

Would I like to mix on a $1000 pair of monitors (or $2K, or $10)? Of course. Do they sound better than the KRK 5s? Absolutely. But can I do a perfectly credible job for my clients on these $300/pair monitors? Yes.

You can copy the contents of the card to a backup drive — just make sure to copy the entire file structure, Private folder and all. I create a folder for the client/project/date and card #, and then put the Private folder and subfolders in that.

Otherwise you’ll have issues using FCP log and transfer

I’ll echo the endorsement for the KRK Rockit 5s. Bi-amped, so you wouldn’t need additional amplification. Certainly there are better/truer monitors, but the price/performance value of these speakers is pretty great. Plus I’ve had two situations lately where I’ve used them on location for audio reinforcement for small scale presentations
