You can’t. You need to choose one or the other.
What are you trying to accomplish? Perhaps there’s help in that area.

“ANALOGY: Not to beat a dead bovine any further than I usually do..”
Actually, beat all you want – makes for an extra tender filet mignon… 😉
No worries. Thanks for the additional insight.

I don’t have any problem with any sort of “bump” – starting or stopping. Are others experiencing this? And the Varizoom Rock-PZFI works great for me, by the way.

When you put the CD in your computer and run the installer, it will install the appropriate P2 driver onto your computer. You won’t then easily find the drivers – they’re put somewhere I the Library, I believe, but you don’t need to find them for FCP to work. FCP will locate them itself.
So, did you actually install the driver? You might try re-installing if you’re not certain, since what you’re describing sounds like you don’t have the driver installed.

If you’ve got a question, best to post it fresh rather than piggy-back on someone else’s unrelated and already-answered question. Since Jan, who is a lady, not a guy, already answered the original question in this thread, there would be no real reason for her to check further posts.
Same with all the people here who COULD answer your question. They don’t see it, and don’t respond, since even your subject line doesn’t indicate a change from the 16GB card thread.

Did you load the driver onto your Mac? If not, it’s on the CD that came with your camera.

With the MXF files being the Masters, you can actually get rid of the QT files since they can be recreated from those Masters. That should buy you more space. Though, with Firewire drive prices continually coming down, you can afford to keep multiple backups. LaCie’s 500GB Quad Interface (eSATA, FW800, FW400, USB) Firewire Drive sells for about $185 at MacConnection. It’s excellent. I just budget them into whatever project.

If it’s just a lens cap, you can get one at most camera stores.
If you’re looking for a replacement lens hood cap, you can order online at

No – you don’t necessarily have to reformat the cards again. But doing so in the camera just takes a few seconds and doesn’t hurt the card
As for clearing the cards without reformatting, I’m not sure what system you’re using, but you can do it if you transfer your footage from your P2 card using a computer, either directly to the hard drive or an attached firewire drive.
Double-click on the P2 card to find a Contents folder and a Text file. “Show Info” or view properties for the Text file and uncheck the “locked” box. Now drag both the Contents folder and Text file to your trash and delete them. That’s it.

It’s really complete. Stands are good. You don’t need to change them, but they’re not as heavy duty as a regular C-Stand, though a C-Stand wouldn’t fit in the case. Just be sure you sandbag them.
If you don’t already have gels, you might want to buy some sheets or rolls by Rosco (the color is throughout the gel, not just “painted” on, so it lasts longer). They don’t sell direct, but most expendables houses should stock them. Include diffusion. It’s not expensive.
ARRI also sells an accessory kit that’s got a 25′ stinger with a cube tap, clothespins, lamp pack and even grip gloves. Item #571700. ARRI list is $125, so you can do better at B&H. Guessing 3 lamps in the pack, but I’m not positive.
But none of that is mandatory – I’m sure you’ve got an extension cord and gloves at home. Though 2-3 extra bulbs of each kind would be handy.
