Thanks for the advice Shane. I had a FS 1770 in my studio that failed in a day due to a loose cable, I learned later. I never had time to evaluate it, though it seemed unsharp feeding it a Pro Res 422, 1920 by 1080 frame through SDI. It also had a distinct yellow/green cast to the highlights compared to my other montiors, which the FS tech support said could have been due to the loose cable or because my other monitoring sources were off. I was very impressed with the build quality of the monitor and tech support.
Are you referring to the latest generation of JVC monitors? They have a 178 degree viewing angle.

Hello,
Thanks for the info. I tried using P2CMS, and it also doesn’t recognize and can’t open the files Stellar Phoenix restored from the deleted folders.
Al the audio and video files are in their right folders and are approximately the right size, they have just been restored as file types that FCP and P2CMS doesn’t recognize.
I don’t quiet know how to ask this question, but is there something in the way that Atomic Fusion “sees” a file that the software will be able to recognize the data although it has wrong file type name?

Are you shooting 24p, and if so is it possible you are zooming too fast?

Will,
Thanks for the suggestion
I tried different sound sources with the mixer O db slate tone set a -12 db on the camera, and it seems to be working well. When the mixer level meter indicates peaking for dialogue (above +16 db), the camera also shows peaking on its level meter. This seems counter intuitive to me, but then I don’t know if the -50 db at the mic or line input on the camera is the equivalent of a 50 db change on the mixer levels meter. This set up also gives me a little greater resolution on the mix level meter to adjust gain with.

The Rev has 35 gig removable media that Iomega says is archival, and, if my math was right, takes about 25 minutes to write a full disc.

You didn’t state what type of computer you would be using in your original post, so the Seritek 2bay enclosure may not work because it requires two SATA connectors into your computer. I don’t know if there are dual SATA port cards available for laptops. You might check Firmtek’s site.
