Yes I try to put everything on another drive but over the years accdents happen. Especially the restore function. Thanks for your help

I have about half a dozen hard drives. In fact one just crashed the other day. But unless changed Vegas will put everything on C drive. A 500 gig wont last very long. I have no idea how that huge file got there.
thanks for how to default a still length on time line. One or two manual adjustments is ok but 40 or 50 is a pain of course

The term editing was not the right one to use I suppose but I am editing architect when I change menus and other features I think. I did not intend to edit the project. I also am aware that I can make a movie by calling up “make movie” but I need to give it a name and add other projects to the finished DVD. I use Architect 4.5 which came with Vegas 9 Platium Pro. A really great program but I need to know more. Sound Forge also came with it but I haven’t even started on it. First things first. So the situation is Architect comes up with my project titled “Untitled” Once way back I did some changing of titles and so on and came up with a disc of just menus and no program so I don’t want that to happen again. Too much time was wasted. So please help me with this next step. I’ve got the project into Architect titled “Untitled” and I want to add a previously created project to that one as I want a full disc if possible. I have a few previous dar files if that is what it takes. But I have looked everywhere on Architect I could find where to add another after I have sent the project to Architect from Sony Movie Maker. I am not sure without looking what is a valid file that will add to an architect project. First I need to know where the add button is. The reason I don’t just chuck it all and use (shall I say the word it starts with ‘w’) It is simple and does the job but compromises the quality considerably I am sure. The material quality is bad enough and I don’t need to degrade it any more. If you can make sense of this I will thank you for your reply.

Thanks, It has been a couple days and I have even forgotten what I did to fix it. I’ve spent most of the time at a hospital. I think I had forgotten something So if I remember right I just set Vegas to default. Thanks again

I stand corrected. I see there is a way to render a looped region after all. I still need to make a dvd of the entire program though. The entire program takes about 20 gig as is so it has to be reduced quite a bit it looks like.

OK, including BD is good. I have the software and can get the burner. My question is under what circumstances do I use it?
what is a good source to make a BD instead of a DVD? The obvious source of a HD camcorder is probably worth it. But what about the source of old mm film, 16mm film, and super VHS tape? Would there be any advantage to burn these sources in BD? Maybe also good photos used in a music or other video. What about the stuff I have already made and burnt on a DVD would it be to any advantage to burn it now on BD? Especially that question. I am past the stage of creating a lot of new material so the above questions are important to save myself a lot of useless work. It’s wonderful to find someone with these answers and I wont have to spend hours trying to find the answer myself. Have a nice day. -
OK, So better quality is done by how? Faster bit-rate? Is anything bigger than 720×480 a blue ray or maybe a HD? I never looked into it but suppose a DVD is standard 720×480.
Windows 7 DVD maker will make a DVD up to 150 minutes long. I never looked into the VEGAS 9 Platimum I have but is will make a DVD only about 125 minutes on account of bitrate or something I suppose. I suppose anything longer than this exceeds the capacity of the disk and vegas will not import it into the program. At least trying to import another disk after already importing a first one wont work.
Your comments on the above questions would be appreciated.

OK, sounds great. I made a svchd DVD with vegas 9 platium off some material right off a HD ccamcorder and it was fantastic. It had to be SVCHD as it would not play on a standard DVD. Better than lots of BD movies. Some movies look like they aren’t the quality especially what you might find on demo TV’s in stores. The camcorder saves in MPS files. Vegas rendered this and made a svchd disk that would play only on BD. Now I look if I can render in AVCHD and cant find anything here in Vegas that says MPS, or SVCHD. Looking at the specs every one is a max of 720×480. DVD quality of course. or less. I am willing to spring for an improved version or even a pro version if I have to do that. That one certainly looked like HD that came off the camorder. Boil it down to this Can I squeeze out any more quality on disks with HD from this material? The answer is in did I get all possible quality when rendering it 720×480 resolution? It would really be nice to clear this up.
I believe I saw where the DVD from from the camcorder files were 1080. The AVC (mp4 ) file in vegas was only 320x?.
