My 500 gig hard drive was running a little low until I found and deleted an AVI file 167 gig big. What a relief. Is that possible in vegas? I didn’t wait around to check it out I just deleted it. I cant find where to adjust the length of the time a still picture hangs around in a slide show. I could not find it in preferences. I forgot where to do it.

Did you render it uncompressed?
Hard drives are very cheap these days so there’s no reason not to have a 2 TB. one on your system.
This is in addition to your system drive as you should always have at least two drives on your computer.You can drag a a still out to make it as long or as short as you want.
If you’re referring to the default time, that’s found under Options – preferences – editing – still image length. -
I have about half a dozen hard drives. In fact one just crashed the other day. But unless changed Vegas will put everything on C drive. A 500 gig wont last very long. I have no idea how that huge file got there.
thanks for how to default a still length on time line. One or two manual adjustments is ok but 40 or 50 is a pain of course

It’s always been up to the end user to decide where to put things and I NEVER put anything on my system drive.
When I start a brand new project, I always create a master folder on drive D with several subfolders (for example: music, graphics, project files, captured video, renders, etc.).
Even if a file exists elsewhere on my computer, I make a copy of it for the project as it makes backups a lot easier. -
Yes I try to put everything on another drive but over the years accdents happen. Especially the restore function. Thanks for your help
