What is the secret to copying the embed code in the picture upload to illustrate the arrow in the frame. I highlighted the code but it would not copy and could not paste in the message. I tried other methods with no success

It’s has been a while since I asked but when you edit the message it is automatically saved in project media. You will note that when you edit the text and go to another feature you will find it in project media. As far as saving it in a file somewhere that I do not know but it is in the project media anyway. Then you cn drag it wherever you need.

OK, I went back to “show me how” and I think with your help and redoing the Show me how I can make a movie from something I did in Vegas. If I can find it. I still however have to solve how to name it and not leave it as “Untitled”

Well if that is what it is then that is what it is. . On the box it says Sony (Standard Oil of NY) Vegas Studio 9 will drag and drop DVD authoring. Does Architect drag and drop from a timeline? Does Architect do time line editing? I’m going to go to Architect and finish there (again)as I have no other choice. I paid top dollar for this program actually 129 not 120 and expected it to have everything I needed in the Sony (Standard Oil of NY) Vegas Studio 9 program.
But I call Sony (Standard Oil of NY) hiding behind fine print to make a buck. When I bought Sony (Standard Oil of NY) Vegas Studio 9 it was the latest out. I don’t think Sony (Standard Oil of NY) is giving upgrades away so Architect here I come.
thanks a bunch

I decided to look at the box and see where I got all these ideas of Vegas 9 capabilities. Right on the box it says it is the propack. It says it will produce DVD’s with custom menus and graphics. Drag and drop DVD authoring. It will produce professional movies. Another place it says it will do DVD authoring. I could scan this but it’s there I can assure you. The selling point is ti makes DVD’s in the ordinary meaning.
I rendered movies in mpeg1 and mpeg2 which would not play on two of my DVD players. Just on my computer. On the box it said nothing about having to use sony architect to do this so I think I must be missing something. Architect is ok but it has a lot of stuff I don’t need after finishing with vegas 9.
Have a nice day. Thankis for your help. We are almost there!

It appears that Sony vegas does not make a DVD that will play in a DVD player. I rendered a movie in mpeg1 and mpeg2 and neither would play in a DVD player only on a computer. I had to create the movie in sony architect to play on a DVD player. Sony architecture has a lot of good features but I didn’t want to go through that process. So if anyone has a solution on how to make a DVD in vegas that will play in a DVD player let me know. I’d appreciate it.

OK I figured out the problem with the missing files. I was inserting them into the media from a DVD in the dvd r/w. Naturally the dvd was not in the dvd writer when I went back to the program. If I had read everything on the menu I would have seen the source of the file was the dvd reader not something in my computer. In the meantime I learned a lot of other things. The solution to making a movie is probably as simple. (when I learn)

It’s vegas 9 platinum. The latest version when I bought it. It is just me.

Yes, I do too although to the expert it may not look like it. I have got a lot of help from you and I appreciate it. I have always looked for a solution in help or tutorials before coming to the forum. I would not be asking for answers if I had phrased the question properly in manner easily understood. I cant get answers if the problem is not properly understood.
I decided to do something about 75 years of pictures, movie film, videotape and now digital pictures that I have. I have to learn vegas to do this. Nero, Roxie, Ms Movie maker will not cut it. Vegas is the best answer to do this. I have just a couple problems to solve.
Actually this is enjoyable. Learning something new is always fun. I can do a hit and miss job but I want a real ability to do what I want to do with thousands of pictures and thousands of feet of film gooing back to the 30’s.

Yes, but that is where the problem lies. Click the make movie button and it renders the movie. then it says to send it to architect. I thought it rendered it then I could make a dvd but it asks me to send it to architect. When I am done with it in Vegas I want to render it and make a DVD of it. Either place that I have found so far to make a movie it says to send to Architect. Then architect wants to give it titles and do everything that I thought I had already done. Besides treating it as unsaved and untitled. So you can see I am way off somewhere.
I’m going through all this with the object of making a movie in Vegas 9. I’ve made them but not well made. I’ve even made them in architect. The help through tutorials and index in Vegas is the best. A quality Microsoft has never learned. But to the new person it is still incomplete. The learning process can be speeded up with help. That’s what forums are all about. I’ve had a lot of help so far and I sincerely appreciate it. I’m taking the easy way out. Asking help at this forum is the easy way. I’ve always been to the tutorials and help before coming to the forum be assured of that. So if you have the solution thanks.
Maybe next time I will actually select to render the movie and see what comes up before sending it to Architect. Thanks for your help.
Have a nice day.
