June 26, 2010 at 11:31 pmWhy couldn’t you just select all and save it in Word?

June 27, 2010 at 3:25 amI haven’t made myself clear. This is a text generated media event. I edited it but need to save it to get out of the editing mode. So i can insert it in the timeline.

May 11, 2011 at 1:19 pmOh…
wow, so the next time I edit a video I wont be able to pull up the same text with the exact same FX that I used previously?
I want the videos to be consitent with the last ones.I kinda like the effects that I have at the momment.
I dont want to key frame the effects all over again.
That took a long time.🙁
thanks so much for the response Mike. -

May 11, 2011 at 2:44 pmThe following assumes that you’re using Vegas Pro and not one of the Movie Studio versions.
In a roundabout way you can.
When you start a new project, open the old one at the same time and do a copy/paste of the text event from the old project to the new one.
Another method is to save the text event itself as a separate veg file.
When you start a new project, import this veg file and drop it on the timeline.
If you want to edit it, right-click the veg file, select “Edit in Vegas (file-name.veg)”.
This opens a new instance of Vegas allowing you to make any desired changes.
Once you save and close it, the veg file in your original project is instantly updated.
I do this latter trick a lot for a few projects that I do each year and it saves a lot of time. -

May 11, 2011 at 8:48 pmIt’s has been a while since I asked but when you edit the message it is automatically saved in project media. You will note that when you edit the text and go to another feature you will find it in project media. As far as saving it in a file somewhere that I do not know but it is in the project media anyway. Then you cn drag it wherever you need.
Have a nice dayl
