I’m working with Red 4.3 but am unsure as to which AVX version I’d have to check.

The good news is I finally got it to work. Prior to this I’d used a “6 input” effect (which had a Video 1 and a Video 2 track by default) and then duplicated tracks and then changed which “V” track they were pointing to until each video track was covered.

What finally worked was using the “new track” function in Boris which automatically set each subsequent track so the first one set as V3 the second as V4 and so on through V6.

For whatever reason it worked doing it this way so that was a nice thing. I don’t know what’s special about the “new track” way rather than the just duplicating the track but I won’t complain.

    Thanks.

I started using Boris FX and Graffiti LTD since it came with my Avid Express Pro system. Just recently I upgraded to Boris Red 4.0 and also saw that Avid FX was added to my FX bin.

My brief time playing with Avid FX is that is was just Boris Red with a few cosmetic differences. I haven’t done much in the way of experimentation to see if they function the same way or not but I’m sure there are others who have.

I had gone through some Boris tutorials so I just stuck with the Boris interface since it was the most familiar to me. It can also be run as a standalone program while I don’t think Avid FX can.
