CS4 started the same today here on OS 10.6.3 on a MBP. Repaired permissions and nothing. I’ll try Drive Genius on it….

Hi Paul,
I’ve had similar problems bringing QT’s in from a JVC GY-HM700 from SDHC cards. The only success I’ve had is simply dragging the clips onto the M100 icon which launches a new project/bin and selecting a codec and importing. From within the program it fails without fail.My footage is 720p60

It’s the black stretch set to +3. Maybe it’s a User setting and was inadvertantly pushed?

Thanks Matt, you have mail.

Gerry, I made the jump almost a year ago and am completely satisfied with the speed and performance of the new system. I wish I had done it sooner. Some of the newer features are making my workflow more seamless with other apps as well.

Under Leopard (and under more or less all previous MacOS versions) you specified which app created a file, and which app should be used to open it by default. This is now gone, and the OS relies (more or less) on the file extension to see which app should be used. So if you have a .mov file, you cannot say anymore that this file should be opened with QuickTime player by default, while another .mov file should be opened with let´s say Media 100. They now will all open with the same application. And it seems like your default app for .mov files is Soundtrack; not sure why.
Thanks Floh, it appears this particular portion of the issue is solved by moving QT 7.6.3 from the Utilities folder to the Applications folder and THEN changing the setting to open all .mov files to open with 7.6.3. Not sure why it makes a difference by I found that on the Apple Support Forum and it seems to have worked.
The rest is still unresolved on my end.
Thanks for your input so far.

It’s weird Eric that with Snow Leopard 10.6.2 the QT version goes down to 7.6.3, not up…..
I can’t imagine no one else is using Suite 1.5. Maybe someone could run a test even if it’s installed on Leopard to see if the Batch Export works properly?

Thanks Piotr. The Formatt I was sold is a nice filter but I have fat fingers and struggle to work up inside the hood to attach the CP after removing the UV/Clear which you can’t stack on. Seems dodgy for the work I do nearly all outdoors in all conditions.
To be sure, the B&W you mention, is it the standard depth or slim? A second filter can be stacked, correct?

Thanks Piotr and Ryan.
Ryan,
The reseller likes the IDX batt solution better although I know it comes with the AB mount. His selling point is that the IDX can be piggybacked which may be more beneficial as I can just add another batt on if I’m shooting something critical and don’t want to power down/switch and carry on. I realize it may be a bit unbalanced at that point.
Also the PVS2 mounting plate has a similar tap to the AB, I know they’re both good gear.
I’ve read, until now, that the Canon had fewer breathing problems although the extra zoom on the Fuji would suit me for my work. The majority of footage is outdoor action/seminar.
Any other input is greatly appreciated.

okay IDX Enduras and simultaneous charger. On the JVC, how about the Canon 14X vs Fujonon 17X, any input?
