Every time I start up After Effects CS3 (Mac 10.5.8), it gives me the message: “After Effects Warning: Unknown Exception” and then automatically quits. I reinstalled it once and got the same response. What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

CS4 started the same today here on OS 10.6.3 on a MBP. Repaired permissions and nothing. I’ll try Drive Genius on it….

I tried repairing permissions twice, with no luck. I’ll try Disk Warrior next… but if that’s no good, I might just uninstall and start over.

Disk Warrior crashes, too; 3 times, I’ve had the same message: “An unexpected error occurred while attempting to perform the file operations. Restart the Disk Warrior disc and try again. If you report this error, please mention the error code (2903, -8902).”

I uninstalled the whole program and then installed it again, and now everything seems fine. Beats me what went wrong, but it’s running smoothly again now.
