this is possible with our adobe première panel plugin you’d need the latest v 6.10.6 or 7.0.6 server but then you can usethe première panel tocnnect to and search catdv from within première and then choose weather to import hi res or proxy media

I’m afraid not all metadata fields are searchable as they’re not actually stored as values but calculated for display data rate is one of these calculated values so not searchable.

At the moment there is no easy way to “Add” them we would need to calculate the values then store them in the DB as fixed results I’ve asked for this to be considered for future development on server 7

I’m afraid its not possible to customize details on a per catalog basis as the details Panel is set at the production group but you can absolutely do this on a per production group basis so have view 1 for production group 1 view 2 for production group 2 etc

you need to make the pick-list extensible so you can actually add new values before you can tick the remember values box

ticking the extensible box will allow you to then tick the remember values box

I’m sorry to hear you are still having issues

please could you do the following

restart catdv

create a small catalog with a few clips

export the clips as an FCP xml file

save the catalog as a local *.cdv file ( File menu > local catalogs > save as catalog )

could you then email support@squarebox.com with :

the catalog
the xml
the catdv logs
a brief explanation of the issues you are having

I’ve flagged this with the developers and they are aware of the issue it is being addressed but i believe we need both server and client changes to resolve so it isn’t going to be a quick fix

server side will come with Server 7 and the client with a subsequent client update but i’m afraid i cant give timescales at this point

do you have remember values ticked for your pick list ?

If you have remember values ticked any entered value is added to the pick list for future re-use if its not ticked the value isn’t saved

to give you a couple of use case examples

say I have a pick list of staff names for use in training videos I would want to have remember values ticked as I would probably reuse the metadata again in another video.

however if I was doing on campus interviews at a university I might want to record the interviewee’s name as metadata but as I’m unlikely to ever interview the same person again there is no value to saving the name into a pick list
