Thanks. I will try to do it that way. When I render the individual clips do I need to render them to what my final output will be or render to match the rest of the video that is on the timeline then rerender all when I am done with final editing to the final source? Hope that makes sense.

ok the preview window is on best full and I got the project properties by clicking on the match media folder in the new project window. The media that I clicked on to get the properties is the same file (avi) that I will be using in the project. Should I have manually put the properties in? I checked to make sure they matched my video source and it does. There are no accidental fx turned on. So what could be the problem? Why would it look different viewing it from the trimmer window vs the timeline? Is there a different process the video goes through to be played from the timeline instead of trimmer window? I hope I am making sense. The preview window is always on best full when viewing either in trimmer window or timeline. Why would the video degrade just by dragging onto timeline.

I just asked in the basic forum how to use Nero to burn my project that I created in DVD Architect because DVDA will not communitate with my burner (I get an error message from DVDA) but Nero works just fine. So could you tell me your work flow process so that I know how to get the files into nero? Sorry I don’t know the quality of DVDA because I can’t get it to work.

Thank you for the information. This is the first chance that I have had to work on the computer. All drivers, firmware, updates etc are in order. The burner works great with my other burn programs but just not DVD Architect.
I see where other people will use DVD Architect to make their project then burn using another program. Since my other programs (nero is one) will work I would like to try using the files from DVDA and use nero to burn so that I can try and finish this project. Then in the meantime I definetly want to figure out what is wrong with communication between my burner and DVDA. If anyone can tell me how to still use the projects that I have created with DVDA and pull them into another burn program that would be great. Thanks. -

That does sound easy. Ok 2 more quick questions then I will hopefully quit asking questions for the evening. You said to point to movie file then press ok. So by movie file do you mean the mpeg 2 file that was rendered from vegas or am I going to have to re render everything and select to render to DVD Architect? In other words can I just drag my mp2 file into DVDA?

Wow. That was some great information. Thank you Steve for taking the time to explain all of that. I think I understand at least 50 percent of it but plan on researching, reading, researching some more to fully understand it. I am here to learn everything that I can.
And John, I was actually thinking that I just needed to use vegas to burn dvd’s as I was reading Steve’s post before you posted anything.LOL! So I do have a question. The reason I was not wanting to use vegas is because I don’t have DVD Architect loaded on my computer and do not know how to use it yet. I have Vegas pro 8 and the only option that I see for buring a DVD just from Vegas itself if for a Blue Ray. Is DVD Architect the only way that I can make a regular DVD? Am I missing something or not reading correctly?

What is a good dvd burning program to use in your opinion and how do I know that it will not re encode it? What do you mean by about placing the files on dvd media and not playing? Are saying that my mpeg 2 file will not just automatically burn to a dvd? I am just a little confused there. Sorry about posting this in the regular forum. I meant to post in the sony basic forum.

Thank you so much. After I made this post I went into the regular sony forum and just finished reading where you told someone how you processed each clip that needed noise reduction separately then pulled those into your project. I did not understand how you did that and was on the verge of asking you until I just went back and read your reply. You somehow read my mind. It is neat video that is making things difficult but I love the end result of it. Thanks again.
