you can get AE to see and use 16GB RAM? Please do tell? I thought it was still a 32 bit application.

    Thanks

Media Composer and Symphony have very similiar UI.

If you know MC you will be fine, just need to find the extra bells and whistles on the Symphony.

    Guys, it’s Sunday.

Sunday is a day of rest. So take it easy and just change your Blending mode to Add, no need to pull key.

Heads up for those not in the know. Detonation Films rocks Large. MMmmm-kayyyyyy

I think i know what your problem is.

Your Graphics card driver is out of date.
You mention Avid Mojo. Avid requires a certain release of the Nvidia driver. After Effects prefers a 91. something… minimum.

I had a similiar problem on certain effects and pluggins….upgraded my driver and life was good. Please post if this works.

I think if you create a mask to map to the actor and lower opacity to 0 you could bring the fork through the mask. it should look o.k with the right speed and a little blur.

March 31, 2007 at 8:39 pm in reply to: Secret preferences information?

When I play back the Quicktime movie it seems that it has skipped certain frames and does not play smoothly. I did right click on the movie file and can’t find info about the codec etc. When I rendered it I used RGB+Alpha, millions of colors, premulitplied alpha. project link was embedded. There was no audio in the comp.
The movie is 6 seconds long, one layer on the time line with 1 psunami effect. I knocked down the length and layers to see if it would improve and it has not.

My machine is AMD 4400 dual core, 3gb ram, Nvidia 7900gt, 10,000rpm raptor drive running Win xp sp2. I have minimal services running and this is the first time I have had a problem like this?

    Thanks for the info/help

    Thanks for the info.

Do you guys have an actually safe bet number that I should set this to?

Right now it is set to

    disable layer cache is unchecked

purge every 0 frames during make movie

ignore sequence rendering error is unchecked

I tried to output a 10 sec 3 layer comp with a Psunami wave effect, a Trapcode shine effect, and a solid.
It won’t play right in AE or look right in QT.

Not sure why? I have 3 gig of RAM. So here is another question. Should I edit my Boot.ini file, I looked it up on the forum and read…proceed with caution, not recommended, so that scared me off.

    Thanks for the help
