The Ki Pro Mini uses the format Mac OS Extended (HFS+) on CF cards. Use a USB Connected CF card reader to a Mac. Use Disc Utility to format the CF card and then insert into the Ki Pro Mini and let the device re-format again. That should solve it.

Michael is correct. I just tried both A and B settings and they’ll both take a manual W/B. Cool. I always thought that ATW was all that setting would do. How long have I had these cameras now? Since December of 2007 and I never even tried to do a manual W/B with the ATW setting.

You may be in luck because 24p is neither PAL nor is it NTSC. 24p is generally considered a “universal” format that is used to reach the largest possible audience. If you need to show it in Europe then contact the TV carrier who will be hosting your presentation. They will be the ones that have the final say.

The ATW and Preset settings are not able to be changed. Unless W/B is also listed in the switch/button re-assign options you can’t use another switch for W/B either. Without looking I don’t think it’s listed. The W/B preset is tied to picture profiles so if you’re so inclined you can create 2 or more custom profiles with various W/B settings. The W/B switch will use the preset of whichever picture profile the camera is currenty using.

Sorry I couldn’t help resolve your problem. There is a good chance that there is something physically wrong with the camera then, such as a broken component connection. Perhaps the actual component cable is faulty. Is there a way for you to test with another EX camera? If you’re able I recommend bringing your camera to an authorized Sony repair camera hospital for a checkup.

Go to the OTHERS menu again and hit the RESET ALL button, then go through the setup routine like I’ve outlined above. If that doesn’t work then pull both the main and the memory batteries, wait a few minutes, re-install the batteries then go through the routine again.

Set it to anything but OFF. Probably set it to HD.

It’s in the OTHERS menu. Make sure it says Disabled.
If you’re stuck using DVI then check to see if there’s an audio signal coming through the camera’s headphone jack. If there is you can connect a stereo mini-plug to that with 2 RCA connections at the other end of the cable and plug that into the TV as well.

This is all covered in the EX1 .pdf manual.
Go the the VIDEO SET menu and set the “YPbPr/SDI Out Select” (page 109) to either HD SD or OFF. Selecting HD will output the same signal as what is shown on your on-camera monitor. Setting to SD will output a down-converted signal. Either of these 2 settings will enable both the SDI BNC port and the Component Out port. Make sure you have first disabled the iLINK I/O or there will be no signal fed to the SDI/Component ports.
Don’t confuse “YPbPr/SDI Out Select” with “YPbPr/SDI Out Display.” The last one is an ON/OFF toggle that allows you to display on your outboard monitor the same menus and status indications as those on the on-camera monitor.
