Was the 8 gigs of RAM already in your Mac Pro when you bought it from Apple or did you have someone else install the RAM after purchase?

I personally would not like to see a company like Avid become a lesser entity because of poor management decisions or whatever everyone perceives the present problems to be at the moment. Competition between companies benefits us all and keeps our favourite flavour of NLE cutting edge.

You’re quite right, David. I should have been more specific. Never assume that because someone is formatting a RAID that there’s no media on it.

Just go through the same process again but choose “journaling off” this time. You won’t hurt anything by reformatting.

Turn journaling off for any media drives. Journaling will, with varying degrees, interfere with the capture and editing process.

That’s because the viewfinder isn’t showing you what’s being recorded, only what the lens is seeing. From your pictures it looks like a cleaning and adjustment is in order. Take it to a qualified repair facility. Only through testing will it be determined what is wrong and how much it will cost to fix. If the estimate for repair starts to add up it might be cheaper in the long run to get another camera.
