Hi Dan,
I just got into work and tried out your expression. It worked perfectly as expected ;).
Thanks so much!

Hi Jeremy,
yes, I tried all that. First through character offset and then through an expression that let’s the layer take a new value for every frame…

Hi Jeremy and Matthew,
the parameter for time sampling is already set to random-still-frame and i also tried various values for the random seed.
I use a layer as an emitter and a composition that plays through the entire alphabet as a particle.thanks and greetings, Dina

1. create a null object and apply a effects for expressions -> slider
2. in your timeline window open your effect controls, by holding down the alt-key and klicking on stopwatch activate expression for the wiggle value
3. drag the expressions ‘link’ button to the slider on your null object.
Your expression will be created automatically and the wiggle value will follow the value of your slider.

activate the keyframe, where it starts to move left… zoom into your composition window.
You should see the bezier curve of your animated position. Click on your bezier handle and straighten out your position curve…
sometimes the curve get’s all messed up, when you add keyframes….
