    hi RF,

The Pre-comp method is great. becaus, normally a TRACKER would stop tracking as it reaches the end of the comp as it wont fins a pixel to continue tracking…right? We cant stretch the footage also. so what we do is that we tell after effects by PRE-COMP…..and adding pixels on both ends of the pre-comp depending if its an X-pan or Y-tilt.And then going back to original Composition and working on the Pre-comped source file. And then start tracking…so even if the object we are trying to tracking is moving out of the frame the tracker would still continue to track it!!!!
in my case the attach point stops to move but the the other two “boxes” continue to move in a nice straight path and track well….i want to know why doest attach point follows with them??? also the CONFIDENCE values dont get a KEYFRAME then…..??????
if someone can throw a light on this…i wud be really obliged. I know i am very close and may be missing a step…pls help.

    regards,
    Digi

thanks man! thats what i did exactly. but tell me something ….. is it a BUG in AE 7.0?
because technically it should work…as i saw some tutes from the web and in those the CROSS HAIR( attach point i mean) moves in to the extended Pre-comp(the black portion) easily????
whats going wrong? i wud really appreciate if i understand this…as i am going mad about it…i have to find a work about and thats what i did…manually..but isnt TRACKING an automated process??

pls throw some light on this buddy

    regards,

September 29, 2005 at 7:02 am in reply to: How to capture from a DVD in to FCP?

    hi!

thanx to all of u replied.
Is there no option built in FCP which lets u capture DVD directly in to FCP?
i heard a plug-in(which is FREE!!) called MPEG STREAM CLIP.
but i am facing a strange problem.May be the tool is not able to read the .VOB files properly or completely..?
right when the sequence i need to capture/convert to DV/Quictime starts….the head in MPEG STREAM CLIP tool reaches the end.
For e.g. the song in DVD starts at 26:03 and the song is in DVD’s file 02_05.VOB
and the moment it starts the head reaches it end of the bar??
and when i opened the 02_06.VOB hoping that the remaining would start automatically in it it show some other scene???
so where exactly did the song go? i am sure it is in 02_05.VOB but it reaching its end in the tool???
is there some limitation to this MPEG STREAM CLIP tool???
pls…help..its urgent…very urgent.i have to start on this promo today. And yes no copyright issue as its a show on Making of video which became very popular.and since i am working for a channel they have taken care of rights issue before hand.
Pls do help me out.Especially, someone who has used MPEGSTREAM CLIP plugin.
