Hi, based on my experience I can highly recommend Gemini from Macpaw. It is a very useful utility to detect duplicates. User-friendly and works with any kind of document.

Yes, but changing the codec or frame rate won’t help to fix bad video problems. All different codecs and sizes work on the timeline without problems. Maybe applying a flicker filter could help. And making some color grading they will be closer.

    Hi,

As long as the frame rates are equal, I can see they are both 50P here, so there shouldn’t be a problem. Converting 1080 footage to a bigger frame size won’t fix anything. I am wondering when you are in multicam mode, especially those small multicam windows don’t show a good quality of the image, and the program monitor may not be showing the correct quality either depending on the zoom scale. Can you export that section and check if the problem still exists with the exported video?

I don’t feel like it is driverless cars yet. On the contrary, it needs a good driver to show the way. Roles are changing, those once who became motion graphics artists now will be AI artists and it will be easier to create. The human factor is still on the table as every creation process requires creative thinking and planning. AI still cannot create without humans showing the way. But who knows what will happen 20 years later?

    Hi,

As with every new technological advancement we have to keep ourselves up to date. With the invention of video cameras, non-linear editing systems, smaller and cheaper computer systems; and developments with the software are getting faster every day. Lots of motion VFX work will be made easier than ever. We cannot be only editors and say I just edit offline and don’t do anything more. When I was 20ish years there were these older editors, mainly drama editors I know, they wouldn’t even put a dummy text on the screen. They would say this is not my job I only edit. We have to learn and adapt to these new software systems – AI. Otherwise, each member of the new generation will quickly pass us.

I second that, Mads. We all want a perfect flow, but sometimes, when we encounter a situation that is beyond what it should be, we have to do the best we can to accomplish the job.

    Hi,

I have been using Sequoia and Premiere 24 and 25 on different machines for the last few months and I didn’t realize any new issues other than traditional Premiere problems. I believe it is safe to upgrade.

    Hi,

To add Mads’ advice, you cannot exactly do it as he recommended but you can achieve it this way.

First, go inside your multicam clip and assign a video role to every angle. Right-click the video and choose assign video angle and probably you don’t have angle 1 or angle 2 roles so edit roles and create new video roles. Then assign every angle. Then go back to your edit timeline and open the timeline index with command F, and type angle 1 and select all in the index, all angle 1 clips will be selected on the timeline and copy and paste them onto a new timeline. You will see the name of your multicam clip instead of angle names but don’t worry it will select correct angles. Place a blank adjustment layer between angles to keep every angle as if they are on separate tracks. Do this for all your 3 angles. This way you will have them all on the same timeline. And you can export 3 angles in a high-quality codec like Prores 4444 so the colorist can use those tracks.

    Hi,

Just to be clear, you are editing these three cameras in Multicam mode, right?

Unfortunately it is a pain to flatten a multicam clip. Thinking about the duration of a concert it is not something you can do manually. If you are not using multicam but clips on top of each other, that is the way you can use roles to identify them and do some work on the timeline and you can manage that. I think the best way could be telling the colorist the names of the clips from each camera. 3 cameras are not much. He can identify those in Da Vinci. There is no easy job unfortunately. Everybody has to work a little more when needed.

These are the decisions big companies make. There is some info here by Adobe, https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/dolby-end-of-support.html

It looks like they let the operating system support it and don’t want to pay anymore. Therefore, we should look into operating system specs to understand how they handle it.
