  • the vimeo hd export preset does that, my movie is an .mp4. and it looks fine, in quick time, but on vimeo and youtube it creates this gamma shift. I will post screen caps of my sequence, my quicktime player, and the vimeo player to show the difference between what’s on my computer and what my upload looks like. Should I detail any of the preset’s info to see if there is a discrepancy? Thank you again for your consideration and support.

Source video : 16:9 1280×720. I’m not sure about the cinema aspect ratio that I got from doing this effect in FCP, basically I was just happy to get a letterboxed look without cropping my frame and I’m trying to duplicate this in Adobe Premiere.

  • My monitors are calibrated. And I’m using Lion. After I export using the vimeo preset, and I play it in quick time it’s fine, looks exactly like my original sequence. However when I upload to vimeo, the image is much darker. This also happens with youtube. Not using anything else.

Thank you sir. I really just wanted the red sweater and the picture frames to stand out, which is why I kept it so underexposed. I should have just done the underexposing in post, but this was my first attempt at green screening something that wasn’t just some dude in front of a green screen with a three point lighting system. I appreciate you and everyone else’s contributions to my dilemma and I have def learned a lot. I love Creative Cow, this has taken my stress level down a notch or two. Thank you again everyone!
