IMX 30 is about the size of DV but better formulated and still 4:2:2. We use IMX 50 all the time in Multicam without any problems, 30 shouldn’t be a deal either.

I was using a track ball when I started editing and loved it until it bit the dust. Since then I’ve been using Mighty Mouse and like the roller ball. Although after reading these posts I might try my Wacom Tablet from my graphic days.

With H.264 the data rates don’t need to be very high. 1.5mb/s is almost equivalent to DVD quality. 8mb/s is high enough for HD to be delivered over the internet and still looks pristine, so sending 8mb/s SD should be fine.

A lot of broadcasters are accepting HQ Mpeg2 Program Stream file on a data DVD or FTP for delivery.

Same exact thing happened to me. After I got the new card, I’ve noticed faster render times with Motion files in FCP.

I think Deadliest Catch which has some pretty “salty sailor” language has done the best with explicatives. Covering the audio with fishing background effects, may not work in your situation.

We have to do this all the time with Color Corrected and Frame synced Beta footage with IMX. Usually we set the Sequence Timecode with the source and export it that way. Sometimes we forget and have to Modify it ourselves.

However you can either set the TC in your sequence to match your clip TC so when you export it will be on there or after you export it you can still modify your TC under modify.
