Your PC is probably recording is probably set to “What you hear”, or “Wave Out mix”. in the mixer settings.
change it to Line in only if the above is the case.

that looks like a combo of Trapcode Form, Trapcode Particular, and Trapcodde Shine?
the Particular seems to be straight forward, using the normal Point emitter (the motion blur giving the streak effect).
The blue circle seems to be Trapcode Form.
and then the shimmer maybe Trapcode Shine on a path?
just guessing here, what do you think Dave?

I went and bought the Panasonic 17″ LCD Broadcast monitor, and now everything is working great.
The ONLY thing is in After effects, if I create a text layer the text looks half res, but I set the window to High Quality?
Could you perphaps please tell me what setting I’m looking for, I’ve tried a few.

Just bought RIOT GEAR after watching the promo and tutorial.

Maybe you could also try the shadow/highlights filter.

probably something like realflow that is VERY EXPENSIVE.
Why don’t you setup a small fishtank, and film it yourself, should be the cheapest.
Or head over to http://www.istockphoto.com, they have stock video of ink in water you can buy cheap enough.

There is an effect in PP 2.0 called Multibandcompressor. This should do what you need.
I can’t remember if PP 1.5 had it, but there probably was a compressor.
