Well you can edit just about anything on the timeline and it’s definitely not marketing buzz. That said, I agree that H264 scrubbing is challenging on most systems. Don’t forget to try the hover scrub method I outlined in my previous post.
Perhaps you can outline what your system is and I can comment on whether boosting something would be beneficial. One thing I can definitely say is that any 64-bit application benefits from more RAM. If you have 8GB, double it. Even if it doesn’t help you, it will benefit in overall performance.

Consider converting your footage to an intra-frame codec instead of MPEG4 as a test to see if it holds AV sync. If you’re unfamiliar with what to try, I’d suggest starting with Panasonic P2 as an i-frame codec that might give you the results you’re after.
Don’t convert the whole thing to start BTW – just enough to know whether you’re drifting or not.

When you understand the temporal compression scheme of AVCHD, H.264, MPEG-2, etc. you start to realize how hard it is for scrubbing this kind of footage at all. I generally prefer, JKL manipulation and/or taking down the playback resolution in order to scrub footage more effectively. Most importantly, I’ve been recommending people use the thumbnails in the bins and use the hover scrub functionality. Make the picons big and if you’re using video i/o hardware, it should go out the video spigot as well.

however you slice it, Videoguys are good people who are supporting the industry (Mac or PC). They have a lot of lines that are Mac centric and a good portion of their sales are for Mac based customers. They’re in Long Island and attend a bunch of events. It would not be hard for you to get to know them a bit.

Assuming that you’re trying to remove the excessive reverberation in the church, the process for doing this should be relatively painless.
1) In Premiere Pro, select Edit>Edit in Adobe Audition
2) In audition, find a section where there is silence or where there is just the sample of the room reverberating – the longer the sample, the better.
3) Select it with the time select tool.
4) Effect>Noise Reduction>Noise Reduction (process)
5) capture noise print
6) select entire file
7) ApplyYou will have to experiment with the strength and reduction settings and it still may not work out for you. However, this method does produce strong results a lot of the time and is excellent for removing things like HVAC and 60Hz hum.
8) Save the file and/or export the multi-track back to Premiere Pro

Hi Brian. You can switch platforms when upgrading at no extra cost. It does require a call to customer service in order to make it happen, but it’s not too troublesome. I don’t know that you can switch from one platform to another without upgrading though – If you are CS6 on Mac and want to go to CS6 on PC, I’m not sure how you would do that. I would say call customer service.
