Got a new 13″ MBP for editing. I’ll be using mostly PP with some AE and some FCP (7 and X). The computer comes with 4GB RAM. I want to upgrade. Will I see a noticeable difference, and in what area, by upgrading to 16GB vs 8 GB RAM?

(I have the spinning hard drive and NOT the SSD). I’m also using an external RAID for project files and scratch disk and using an external TV through the TB port as an additional screen.

    Hi Trevor,

You will want to go with the 16gig upgrade path if you are planning on using the machine for PrPro. I believe OWC has a solution. I have 16 in my MPB 15″ i7 and it works great.

Adobe guy here… There is no question that 16GB is the way to go.
