How about Varicam footage? The client gives me the footage already captured on their drives. Is there anything I’ll run into? I am assuming that I’ll have to connect their drives to my box via firewire. Is there a better way? scsi perhaps?

lol.. Yeah thanks Jerry. YOu know how some clients are they don’t quite want to pull the trigger all the way. I have a G5 2.7 with 4 gigs of ram. Is my machine big enough or fast enough to edit HD uncompressed? I have the best video that Apple made for it inside. Do I need a seperate card like a voodoo. BTW the footage is captured at the clients then put onto a RAID for me. Then i bring it to my system and edit on here….. Any thoughts that I’ll need to keep in mind?

Zeiss has 5 prime lenses that will work on the H1. And P+S have a telnick adapter that will allow you to use 35mm film lenses.

when I talk to the Mac guys, they say it was for Apple speakers only. It seems to me that any other device could be connected.

  • It looks different then a standard “Optical” connection. The specs online about this box say that you can connect Apple speakers to it. I’d like to connect my Audio process or receiver to this to get better sound out of my box.

I have a gig of ram, dual G4. Plenty of HDD space. But, my video card is only 64megs not DDR or better. Could this be the cause of my slow render times? or that it requires me to render when I add filters??????
