I have a DSR-45 (not A) and it works just fine with FCP 5.1.2.

Don’t export out of LiveType. Just import the LiveType file into FCP and render there.

Use the Import function and navigate to the LiveType project. It’s the one with the .ipr extension.

See if that solves the problem.

I just unarchived an 18 month old project from three DVD’s, all labeled with Sharpies.

    I didn’t have any problems.

I think it might be coincidence.

I have also noticed that when I have a graphics-heavy open, the time estimate goes sky-high, then drops dramatically after the first several minutes.

It’s as if the app assumes that everything must be this complex for the entire length of the timeline, and estimates that it’ll take the same amount of math for the entire conversion, when in fact, the series of talking heads and full-screen B-Roll afterwards is like playing hop-scotch compared to the open.

I’ve had conversions that started out as 18 hour estimates that dropped down to two hours that ended up taking 30 minutes or less for a 26 minute program.

You can’t trust the estimate. It’s just estimated based on what it’s doing right now and how long it will take to do what it’s doing right now to what’s left in your timeline.

Except that 100 gigabytes is not a terabyte.

1000 (or 1024, depending on who you ask) gigabytes is a terabyte.

I just re-read your post. What version of FCP are you running? You may just need an older version of MPEG Streamclip.

If you have FCP, then you have QuickTime Pro. QuickTIme Pro installs when you install FCP.

Have you actually treid to install and run it MPEG Streamclip? You might not have a problem at all, if your QuickTime Pro is insalled properly, which it should be if you used the Installer, then it should just work.

That’s odd. What does it say you need to buy from Apple?

I’ve installed it on 4 machines, and it’s never told me I needed to buy something.

    :), Walter

    I’m a gal with a back problem!

I need the motor! With all the gear on my desk, even if my spine did cooperate, I doubt I could lift 150 lbs. (I’m pretty sure that’s the weight limit for the motor…and I know I’m at the upper limit…)

I suppose I could relocate the gear, but alas, my current space is limited.
