Did you ever find a way to put your templates on your XSAN? I’ve been trying to do the same thing unsuccessfully.

I’d be very interested in hearing about how you work around this issue – and if you ever have template data go offline when transferring the project btwn workstations.

    Thank you,

I’ve been trying to tacking this FCP/Motion/Color workflow too. I’ve read through the forums but am still confused.

If Color cannot take a file from Motion, and “it’s impossible to grade an entire timeline from one quicktime file,” Then what exactly is the workflow here?

It sounds like I need to “export selection” for every clip in Motion, then rebuild the FCP timeline with those clips, then “send to color.” is that correct? What if I utilize different blending modes in Motion, or use a behavior to transition from one clip to another?

Sorry for the lengthy question, I hope someone can help clarify.

    Thank you.

Nope, it’s plug-and-play. And works with other apps. I just spent an hour on the phone with apple support and repaired all permissions for the whole system… still the V/O will not work.

The last resort suggestions from apple was to either A. reinstall the entire operating system (which will wipe everything) or B. reinstall the entire FCP suite. Neither sound appealing for a relatively minor feature in FCP.

Has anyone else experienced this issue before??? Does anyone have a MacPro they care to test it on?

    Thank you,
    David.

I wish it was this simple. I’ve quit FCP, restarted the computer, unplugged and re-plugged the headset, even tried using a different headset… still no luck.

Tested the same headset on a G5 PowerMac running studio 2 and it worked fine. I dumped the preferences too but made no difference on the MacPro.
