Yes sir! Actually a better choice if you intend to run Resolve, which will only work with Blackmagic I/O devices.

Ah ha! You’re not connecting your Flanders monitor properly… You’re not feeding it a true video signal, but rather a computer display from your GPU card. You need a Thunderbolt cinnected I/O device such as an AJA IOXT.

If the Flanders monitor is properly calibrated, and if your color correction looks good on it, you need to trust it, and you should be looking at your Sony monitor as needing calibration. There may be some slight ajustments to gamma required when encoding for the Web, but you definitely should not need to color grade between different video monitors.

You’ve only got two options, which you’ve already discovered:
1) scale until it fits vertically (cuts off some of the horizontal edges)
2) scale to fit horizontally (creates slight letter box)

What you’re seeing is film grain… This looks like it was shot on Tri-X reversal, which was hi-speed (400 ASA) film stock, which is inherently very grainy, but which is now looking MUCH more grainy because your scaling it up by about 400%.
FYI. the grain is there in the low contrast version, you just can’t see it… If you want to minimize the grin you can use a Noise reduction app such as Neat Video or the one in the full ($1000) version of Resolve.
