Resolve is a good solution… However, though you can’t see it necessarily, ProRes LT is NOT the best choice when transcoding from XAVC – you will lose some information, especially when you go down generations in later encodes, etc. ProRes 422 is best for HD, and ProRes HQ is best for 2K and above.

You’re wanting to switch to a faster computer for increased performance – moving data over a network connection without shared storage protocol will negate any performance advantage the newer computer would offer, and then some.

The “hit or miss” method of learning will eventually get you where you need to be Kell, but you may not have any clients left. An experienced professional editor can teach you the things you need to know in a fraction of the time you will be able to figure these things out on your own, and help here on the Cow can only go so far (in the time it took you to explain all the futile steps you’ve taken a professional could have shown you just about everything you need to know).
So, you need to do one of the following:
1) find an experienced mentor to guide you
2) pay the price for professional training

Bobby,
I strongly suspect MPEG Streamclip is at the heart of the issue. I like Streamclip for ripping DVDs, but I personally would never use it as my goto transcoder/encoder. What is it that you like about Streamclip for transcoding?

Hello Jacques,
It’s pretty clear that instead of properly learning color theory and learning to use the powerful color tools inside Premiere, you’re taking all kinds of shortcuts, trying to use an array of plugins and/or 3rd party apps to automatically color correct your footage. Just reading your long explanation is painful, and it’s clear to me you’re wasting an enormous amount of time and energy looking for shortcuts.
Do you truly aspire to become a professional, or are you just experimenting with software because it’s entertaining?
If the answer to the question above is the former, I would suggest that you study any of the vast number of free tutorials available all over the internet (many from Adobe itself), instead of wasting time trying out all those plugins and 3rd party apps.

That was Siri spell checking “your sequence settings”… you did just fine translating, and your sequence settings are ALL good too.
What I would do in this case is:
1) open Render Manager
2) delete all renders in your project
3) re-render the entire sequenceThat “should” fix your issue.

You are NOT the only one fooled into thing that by setting the Editing Mode at the very top of the Sequence Settings that you’re good to go… Almost everyone is fooled by that…
The most important setting in Sequence Settings is the lower setting, i.e. Video Preview – the I-Frame Only MPEG setting, which is set automatically when the user changes to most of the presets, should really be relabeled to say “Premiere has no clue what to set this to, so do it yourself.”
So, set Video Preview yourself, and think of it as setting the codec you want to master to. I routinely change the Preview File Format to to Quicktime, and change the Code to Apple ProRes 422. That’s a terrific goto setting for editing just about any HD camera original – for those on Windows machines without the ProRes codec, setting to DNXHD 145 is the happening codec.
For the record, setting the Video Preview controls what gets displayed to both your Program Monitor and a client or broadcast monitor, and if you check “Match Sequence Settings” in the Export Dialog, it will export a master that matches what I just showed you in how to set the Sequence Settings, and it won’t have to re-render the sequence if you’ve already rendered it, making exporting your master considerably faster.

That’s not the way Audition works when editing single clips… You have to use Multitrack Editing to import both audio and video.
