There are only a few really good solutions to the conundrum of using low-res elements in a hi-res documentary… You can try Chris’ suggestions, but you won’t get magical results, and the garbage in, garbage out, thing will most likely apply. Using the images at a size other than full screen is the best solution, and building creative ways of using multiple images that pop on or fade on to form a composite is a useful technique.

That’s a non-sequitur Dan. Pointing out the exceptions to a rule, especially when the exceptions include variables having nothing/little to do with the OP, do nothing but waste bandwidth and confuse matters. If 8gb of RAM works so well why don’t you remove 56gb in your machine?

Check the minimum requirements for running Adobe CC, 8gb is the minimum, but 16gb is recommended. The reason 16gb is recommended is so you have system overhead… you have no overhead, especially when caching h.264 for playback.

Thank you Eric! Honestly, I thought some of the folks around here having hardware and driver issues might jump down my throat, because honestly, Adobe Tech Support are not as helpful with problems I n those areas. And, I do admit, their primary expertise is with their own software, there are simply too many different hardware configurations for them to be as good in sorting out those issues.

Sounds like you’re getting things working better… and that’s terrific. However, I just want you to know that, had you called Adobe as I suggested, they would have done everything you’re doing, albeit after remoting in to your computer, but with a major difference being that the Adobe support engineer would have done more, while all the time talking you through the process to educate you.
FYZi, I’m telling you this because, prior to CC, I used to be one of those guys who was always fixing everyone’s NLEs – and, I never called tech support, because I knew more than they did. But, Adobe changed all that – when Adobe created CC, cuz they completely revamped their tech support dept, and they hired and trained a boatload of really good technicians.
Most experienced Premiere users never call because Adobe Tech Support used be a big PITA, but just so you and everyone else here know, those days are over, Adobe Tech Support is now quite awesome.

In that case you either create a new track or paste at the end of your timeline then trim and move.

They have totally different databases, so I’m pretty sure the answer is NO.
Is there a reason you asked here on the X forum rather than on the Resolve forum?

If you can’t light/shoot differently, then you’ll have to get better at pulling keys. Typically, situations like yours stem from thinking that one key will magically make everything perfect, when in fact, that only happens when the subject(s) are perfectly lit. So, in your case you’ll need to apply multiple instances of the key to your shots, with each instance tweaked to remove very finite ranges of color, like only the dark green shadow areas, etc. Believe me, many of the keys in many of the top FX driven movies are not shot perfectly, yet experienced VFX artists who know all the tricks can easily key them quite nicely, especially when they combine keying and rotoscoping techniques.
