ive also been interested in doing something like this for some time but never had the technical knowhow, but I hope you dont mind me jumping on board James.
Jeff do you mean something like this pci card? If so would you still use the 2 gfx card outputs for monitors and then just output to large LCD via this pci card? DOes premiere pro recognise all of these types of cards and will it enable 100% full screen playback out of it without seeing any of premiere’s playback controls. That’s really what I’m after but that item seems way too cheap for that…

id really love to hear peoples thoughts on this. I just created a blu ray the way I mentioned (one timeline per video) but noticed that of course when I click play all and push skip to next track on the remote, it says not available as there are no more chapters/tracks within that timeline.
This really is an issue for me.
Please let me know if I need to clarify anything else or post screen shots but I’d be massively grateful if anyone can help.

Ann, could you advise me on how I actually mix the 5.1 sound within premiere? I’ve got as far as adding some 5.1 tracks but how do I tell each track that for example track 1 is to be played through the left front speaker, or is that not how it works?

on the subject of CUDA enabled cards, are they all as physically large as the 470? I bought a 470 but can’t fit it in my case because of a silly ventilation system that can’t be removed. Are there any slightly smaller cuda cards?

I can indeed see the Dolby Digital setting in the audio tab. I then get the option to choose the Dolby Digital Codec or the SurCode codec. Would you advise going for surcode then? Is there any way to set up what sounds come from what speakers or does the plugin do this work for you automatically?
Will definitely do some tests on this when I get home to my surround sound kit but any advice in the mean time is much appreciated!

thats interesting. i didnt try it with the battery removed only the battery switched off.
Ok so thats the camera issue pretty much solved… just this soundcraft desk phantom power issue to go!

Sorry to dig up this old thread again, hopefully you can help Ty.
Basically I now have 3x Zoom H1’s with Audio Technika 3350 lav mics which are fine for speeches, however the quality isn’t quite there for the ceremony when compared to my sennheiser G3 EW100 wireless.
Could you recommend a hard drive or SD card portable recorder and mic combo that will give good uni directional sound so I can pick up the vicar, bride and groom like my Sennheiser does?
Price isn’t really a big problem (within reason) but size is crucial. The smaller the better as I need to put it in a grooms jacket or trouser pocket without causing a huge visible shape in the clothing.

well my pc is up and running. I did set up RAID0 on 2 identical WD Black 64mb cache drives but it meant a 2 min start up.
I disabled the RAID0 and it starts up in 50 seconds.
Either way the PC performs like a dream with my GH1’s AVCHD footage. Strangely enough it performed excellently on a fresh install and I realised I hadn’t actually enabled hardware acceleration in CS5! Hope I haven’t gone overkill!
