I just worked through that Tutorial last night — it is hard to follow. What I did was set a start and end keyframe on the first frame (start 1%, end 0%) then jumped to the last frame and set start at 100% and end at 99%. That got the stroke to move through the whole animation.
As far as track matte, when you dup the layer, set the bottom layer to track matte (with the other layer as the target).
Sorry I am not in front of AE right now or I would be more specific with the technicals — hope it helps though.

HI everyone,
Thanks for all of your help. I ended up downloading the latest version of Invig Classic and that seemed to do the trick — I even re-imported the files that were giving me the error and now they work fine!
Thanks again for all of your help!

Hi John,
I tried as you suggested and it still gives me the same error:
There were no usable vector paths in this file
I am using Photoshop 7, AE 6.0Pro and Invig Classic 3.0.3.
When I apply the InvigClassic effect and get to the open dialog box, select the Photoshop file to which I “exported paths to Illustrator”, the thumbnail appears blank. However if I try to select an AI file that came with Total Training, the thumbnail appears properly and it seems to open fine by Invig??? Any other ideas?
Are you by chance using Invig Pro instead of Classic?
Thanks for you help.

Hi John,
Thanks for the quick response. I will try this tonight when I get home.
I am using the Invig plugin that came with AE6.0Pro (not in front of it right now but I think it was ver 3.something).
Thanks again,

Thanks John, just what I was hoping. I confess, though, not having used paths much, when I open the AI file in Invig it gives me the following error:
“There were no usable vector paths in this file”
What I have been doing is creating a text layer in Photoshop, then I have tried:
Layer>Type>Create Work Path
or
Layer>Type>Convert to Shape
or
Layer>Add Vector Mask>Reveal Allbut none of these seems to give me any usable mask. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

HI Steve,
My hope is that there is some way for me to use InvigClassic with the software that I already own . . .
(eg: maybe Photoshop has a secret way to output vector files that Invig can use, or some solution like that . . . 😉

I am new to Wave world as well but Wave World is intended to be used to create a depth matte for another filter like Caustics. I was watching the Total Training session on Wave World and they were doing some amazingly cool looking things with WW combined with Caustics. By the way, the mesh mode is just a working (preview) mode so you can see what the final effect will sort of be like.
I’m sure someone here will give you tons of info on how to use it correctly — I need to watch the Total Training segment again. . .

Can’t you just track the zits themselves? (I don’t have AE Pro . . .)
