Thanks, Robert. My problem with MotionVFX is similar to Envato – geared toward the independent filmmaker, not so much traditional corporate video. I am looking for clean and crisp, just not so flashy.

Thanks, Thomas. I am just checking out Loopback, made by the same company as Audio Hijack – it looked like Loopback was best suited to this. Not sure. (Still unable to get their audio interface to work with Quicktime, which I am trying to use for the backup recording)

If 3 photo files were created on sept 24, 2019, they import into a subfolder titled sept 24, 2019. So they are now ordered according to the date they were created, not the file name, which is numbered in the order I need.

    Joe,

Your explanation is what I always suspected was the case – just hoped other people had some work around.

For the purposes of opening and editing one project that is on a backup drive, is there any harm in renaming the drive the same name as the original drive? You just have to remember to switch it back later. Would that be enough to fool it?

Maybe the other work around is drag the entire folder back to the original drive?

    All good questions.

The second backup drive only had a couple images.

The actual video footage was on the main backup drive.

No, this is not a “backup” setting.

I literally drag and drop the entire project – library and all assets to the backup drive.

It is the exact same size as the original folder.

Everything is there. I know this because when I relink, it is from that drive.

Seems like this should be simple.

    Media – In Library

Storage used for Media and Motion Content – it names the correct drive – the backup drive – and one more drive (another backup, not the original)

Bottom of the inspector? I am not seeing “storage used”.

If you click on the library in the left sidebar, then enable Inspector (CMD+4), at the bottom of that pane under “Storage Used” it will show what volumes the files are on. Unfortunately it will not show the individual pathnames to each file.
