John, I too have been an early adopter of M100 so it will be interesting to see the bin view you mentioned.

Like Craig, I have been monitoring the SL posts and I too had been wondering about the 100% success rate. Shame really as M100 is good to go, now Bitvice is as well. So let’s trust that Sony will update sooner rather than later.

I have not encountered a less tedious workflow than with my EX format. Shoot, backup (at high speed as has already been mentioned), import & edit. All in pristine quality too.
I have the EX3 with a Fujinon XS HD lens. I cannot comment on the difference in picture quality between the lenses as I have not compared them in that way. I can say that with the broadcast lens I have better overall control & ease of use with the HD lens. I does make the camera more front heavy but with all of my extras such as radio mic receiver, nanoFlash etc attached to the back of the camera, I gain a bit of weight control back. Any long term hand held goes on a shoulder rig.
OK, downside, and that is easily overcome is hand holding the cameras, the EX3 being a little easier to manage. SxS cards are expensive but should last for years. Again, an issue easily overcome by some operators with the cheaper cards.
Bang for bucks – no contest with the EX cameras.

Your client will need to be informed that you can give them what they require on Monday morning. They changed the time frame without consulting you, so you cannot be held responsible for the delay. In the meantime, I would do what Craig & Noah cleverly suggested. Either record to DVD directly or better, show them the clips and then take tour time to make the DVDs properly.

I will concur with Michael about HD to DVD via Bitvice & Compressor. I will add a little to the Bitvicxe process and that is if you are outputting the program from M100 using by reference mode, you should check ‘Use Studio RGB’ ON. This will assist in keeping black levels correct. See detailed info in BV user guide.
Use Compressor to change audio to Dolby Digital.
I obtain spectacular DVD results in this way.
I am very sorry that I cannot assist with Flash.

Export from V1.01 by reference. Encode video from HD to SD m2v in Bitvice 2.7.X and I use current Compressor to create Dolby Digital audio files. You can use the AIFF files if your finished program is not too long but AIFF can really take up some DVD room, so take care with that option

That might be just enough to keep me off the streets whilst I type in the credits with the French & Spanish text. I knew about certain symbols, but not how to get the vowel with the accent on it.

I have been using my MacBook Pro’s Expresscard slot for almost 1 year on a very, very regular basis. I have never had an issue with the build quality or inserting/removing of my SxS cards.
Nevertheless, I thank you for your comments Clint and will be mindful of that poor build quality possibility.

Paul, I have created quite a few wmv files but generally they were fairly small sized. Quality come out very good considering the compression. Sorry I could not help you any further with doing the conversion entirely on a Mac. Hope someone can assist.
