10.6 XDcam Trans works fine on MBP
OK so I had some time to spare after a long trip.
So I decided to try SnowLep and FCP7 with all the latest Sony drivers and Transfer App.
I have read the forums and it seems people have very mixed results.
This was on an upgrade install. I ran Cocktail and DW first as well as DU.
I was surprised to find everything works great. Even the new M100 Suite 1.0.2
I also have the MX02 on this MBP , I will test that later today.
So far everything is very stable, thumbnails show up. No crashing on shutdown. Maybe I am just lucky or maybe being blessed by the TSA X-rays does the trick, and the french chicken bones of course.

I was at one point keeping track of posts about the issue and the numbers looked to be about 50/50. To me that indicates a “conflict” of some sort, whether with the OS or some commonly used piece of software. I can’t but think this is a simple fix that Sony looks like they’re going to take months to deal with.

Even Toast 10 who got some preview bugs Roxio said it will release an update soon look at this :
– Disc Image Mounter kernel extension
– Toast Video Player overlays have corrupt graphics, doesn’t affect functionality
– DVD-Video Preview for DVD 9-5 has black screen
– CD Spin Doctor several issues, including kernel extension not installing/loading
– Disc Cover RE 2 corrupt image preview and several other minor issues
– Get Backup, mostly minor issuesThat’s the short list but mostly complete list of 10.6 specific issues, but a number of other items also fixed in the upcoming update including that annoying Might Mouse scroll button issue.
Well for me Epson answer fast about Snow Leopard compatibility , Roxio also but not Sony.

Well guess what I just tried Transfer again on some footage I shot yesterday.
And now I get the thumbnail error.
You have to highlight each clip and then import, after stopping thumbnail task. I had 45 clips to transfer.
It was a real pain.
At one point I got 30 to transfer before error came back.
I guess I am not so lucky after all.

Like Craig, I have been monitoring the SL posts and I too had been wondering about the 100% success rate. Shame really as M100 is good to go, now Bitvice is as well. So let’s trust that Sony will update sooner rather than later.
Hoping that your workflow hsas not been hindered too much.

My thinking was it look too good , i will wait to see how it is possible …. patience sometime pay …
I scan the internet too to find the miracle done fast by Sony , unless my contactar Sony tell me first.
