VOCAS make matte boxes to suit the EX1 camera. Check their web site out. All accessories (rods etc) there as well.

I have a Caldigit 2Tb HDPro raid setup. You can set it in many raid configurations but mine is in raid 5.

    Great for uncompressed HD.

    Hey Kieran,

I kinda knew it was a monitoring ‘thing’ only but worth trying.
Let us know what the problem is once you sort it out.

    Hey,

Check your audio window and see what the nominal reference audio is set to. Mine is at -14dBFS.

If you cannot see the info, click on the top right hand button of the audio window. It brings up this info as well as audio peak hold duration.

Maybe your reference level is set differently.

    Hope this helps

Yep, I live in the wonderful world of 50 field, 25 frame PAL. No drop frame thingy that I don’t (want to) understand. Nice and simple is 25 frame PAL!!!

I agree with you about Compressor. It’s very good. No complaints from me and more importantly, no client complaints at all!!

    All the best.

    Hi Kieran,

    I have Media 100 V 12.1.3 HDe on an 8 core 3GHz MacPro with 4Gb RAM.

Although I installed FC Studio 2, I do not run FCP at all on the computer. I installed it for ProRez 422, Compressor – yes compressor, which works just fine and DVDSP 4.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

    Cheers

April 16, 2008 at 1:09 am in reply to: So 12.5 is NOT suitable for HDe?

[Floh Peters] “I haven´t got my registration codes yet, though.”

I have asked my distributor for my new serial number. It seems we need a new unlock code from M100 each time there is a major version change and 12.5 is just that.

    Thanks again Floh

    Thanks Floh,

That’s what I thought, however, I have a current Platinum agreement, so why must I have a trial version and then buy the 12.5 upgrade?

Anyone from Media 100 able to fill me in please. What did you do Floh?

    Thanks very much

April 12, 2008 at 3:44 am in reply to: Analog audio levels hot out of HDe

[Kieran Matthew] “On my HDe audio levels are about 4db higher than they should be. This happens on the XLR analogue outputs and on my Firewire out – I have yet to have an opportunity to test the SDI levels. “

    Hi guys,

Just to let you know how my system works, I operate pretty much in SDI using my HDe and the out levels (SDI to Digital Betacam) are spot on. I’m sorry I cannot comment on analogue out but I will give it a shot and let you know.

Hope you sort out your problems

April 9, 2008 at 2:18 am in reply to: PDW-700 Now Available

As I understand all matters PDW-700, it is officially being launched at NAB next week and should be available shortly thereafter, except for some whispers that the first run will be committed to the Olympics. At least here in Australia, it is scheduled for delivery late May/early June.

As the model does not have the ‘F’ nor CineAlta labelling, it is not a 24p camera.

By all expectations and after seeing at least 30 mins of recorded footage from a pre production camera, it should be a real cracker of a unit. Virtually no picture noise, great dynamic range, a reported 30 sec picture cache, useful options and lots more features teamed with one of the new ZA Fujinon lenses should make this camera the pick of the crop in its range, even if it is one of the heaviest and the most power hungry Sony camcorders available.
