Update analogue audio out for Kieran

I just had an opportunity to play +18 1KHz 0db tone out of my M100’s analogue XLR outputs and into my 2800 Beta SP recorder.
Output was 0VU on the recorder with preset set to unity. So perfect audio level.
A quick set to +24 (USA) on the analogue out preset sent the recorder’s needles hard up against the right end stops.
Back to +18 and all is well again at 0VU.
I have not been able to test AIFF out yet but will report back if I can.
Hopefully you have found your problem and fixed it.

Hi Kieran,
I have Media 100 V 12.1.3 HDe on an 8 core 3GHz MacPro with 4Gb RAM.
Although I installed FC Studio 2, I do not run FCP at all on the computer. I installed it for ProRez 422, Compressor – yes compressor, which works just fine and DVDSP 4.

Arrgh! I was hoping this could be an Intel/PPC thing. And since you are Down Under, I take it you are PAL too?

Yep, I live in the wonderful world of 50 field, 25 frame PAL. No drop frame thingy that I don’t (want to) understand. Nice and simple is 25 frame PAL!!!
I agree with you about Compressor. It’s very good. No complaints from me and more importantly, no client complaints at all!!

Just FYI I just checked out the same thing on my HDe (12.1.3 MacPro 2 core) and at +18dbu I am indeed 6 db down from +24, but still pegs the VUs on our 2800 when in detent.

Hey,
Check your audio window and see what the nominal reference audio is set to. Mine is at -14dBFS.
If you cannot see the info, click on the top right hand button of the audio window. It brings up this info as well as audio peak hold duration.
Maybe your reference level is set differently.

Hi David,
The Nominal Reference selection in the audio window dictates where the little white line on the level meter goes and at what point the bar changes from green to yellow. It doesn’t alter the output levels unfortunately.
