When to Audio Midi SetUp in Mac.
Made sure the clock rate of Premiere Pro 7 was consistent at 44.1 khz with the default clock rate.
So far, so good.

I’ve been doing some more investigating and here’s the one thread I could find:
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/920242
Apparently if you create a track in Garageband— or in my case, Logic Pro X—and have PP open, somehow the clock speed of PP is affected. The lowering of tone problem occurred in PP independent of the 44.1 or 48 kHz setting in sequences. It happened in newly created sequences both in PP CC and PP CS6.
One workaround (I’m still experimenting) was to create an audio track in Logic Pro X, then shut down BOTH Logic Pro X and PP, then only relaunch PP and insert the audio file. This is clearly a pain in the ass, especially if you want to go back and forth between audio and picture revisions.
Would like to know if there’s a way to change the clock speed (I’m on a Mac), without having to close and relaunch the apps, or reboot the computer altogether.

September 30, 2013 at 12:32 pm in reply to: Sound suddenly slower, lower pitched in sequencesI’m in the same boat. Discovered the issue yesterday after creating a track in Logic Pro X (apparently same engine as Garageband) and then importing it into a PP CC project. I did one experiment in which I closed down both Logic and PP, then relaunched PP only. It seemed to work, but I have to do more testing today.
What makes this annoying is that I often go back and forth, making musical revisions as I prepare a final output. To have to constantly shut down Logic and PP will really slow down my workflow.
I too would like to understand how I can change these clock settings (if that’s is indeed the problem) without having to shut down my apps.

Works like a charm.
I’m back on the PP bus.

Well, that might be a deal-breaker. Do any of these engineers at Mac or Adobe have a clue as to how professionals actually make a living
using their products??? It’s so disappointing.By the way, do you know if Avid Media Composer allows for sped-up audio scrubbing that’s comprehensible?
Once again, thanks.

Thanks, Andy.
Much appreciated.

Well, that did it.
Thanks, Mark.
I’m wondering what’s on my system that keeps on creating the preference issues (both with the dynamic guides and now the blue dot transform control).
I’m using Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro Quad. It’s maddening.
