“Being carefully” simply means, that Quicktime is an immanent component of the whole OS.
All that I can say is that I my case, I really deleted everything with “Quicktime” in its name, and I rebooted successfully after that. 🙂
So I can’t give a guarantee that other people with other systems or apps installed are able to reboot proper, too.
On the other hand: I risked deleting everything dealing with quicktime, having in mind that I had to set up a new system in the worst case, and it worked.
Once again: I can’t give a guarantee, but I think that you have to try it before you set up a completely new system.

Maybe you should try to remove anything called “Quicktime” from your system and library… be really carfeul with that, but so did I. Then I restarted, gone the way with Pacifist, restarted again and it worked. Maybe you should check and repair all permissions before that… I don’t know, you got to try.
Maybe you should do this operation several times until it works…
but remember, be careful with deleting Quicktime-component files in your system and library. -

I downloaded Quicktime 7.3.1 and installed it with Pacifist, always choosing “Replace” instead of “Actualize”… and it worked perfectly.Thanks again!
And I will never do a Quicktime update again, Apple. -
Damn, too late…
this is really serious.Like you reported, AFX CS3 stops exactly after 10 minutes of rendering.
I removed all QT-components I found on my machine, resetted the PRAM, repaired permissions several times…
nothing, no chance.
Downgrading doesn’t function either without setting up a completely new system.I reported this bug to Apple; and I’m very curious about when they will react.

Does anybody know how I can “ease” the x-position with the slider?
A small example:
My comp length could be 800px, pivot point far left at 0px.
At the center of the comp, I have an area of 300px called “xArea”.
Now I want the solid being moved constantly by the slider from 0px till it reaches the xArea. When reaching the xArea, it should move FASTER to the center of the comp at 400px. Then it should slow down till it reaches the other side of the xArea, and from there it should move constantly again till the end of the comp at 800px.It is very hard to explain, but when you look at the picture and the linked posting I posted above, then you might get an idea what I mean.
