I think i figured it out. The sequence had a mix of 16bit and 24bit audio. I transcoded the 16bit audio to 24bit and it works now.

1-Avid exports quicktime reference movie
2-Compressor exports the ref movie into a self contained movie

it’s very strange
because when exported, it works fine as a Reference movie, but as soon as I save it as a self contained movie via compressor (because using quicktime pro strips out the timecode track, which i need) the resulting file is screwed up, (the audio that starts 10 seconds in, now starts at the head of the spot (where the slate/ black is) very annoying! need a fix soon. thanks!

Thanks i just ordered that. I see a big re-wiring/ patchbay job in our future.

Thanks, what kind of switch? Are blackburst and tri-level analog?

yeah the nitris does 16ch audio embedded in HDSDI, but i rigged my Adrenaline to output up to 12 channels to my SR deck in 2 passes. The box only embeds 8 audio channels in the HDSDI, but i can send audio out of the AES EBU ports and route them into any channels on the back of the deck I choose. 2 passes though. but it saves us $12k that we would have spent on a new box.
