If you are using DVD Studio Pro, that means you are making DVDs. DVDs are SD. You are not going to be able to take your edited HD video and burn a DVD to be played in set top DVD players without losing tons of quality. The DVD format just simply can’t do it. You need to burn Blu-ray and play it in a Blu-ray player on an HDTV to appreciate your HD video, Compressor can do it with the “Job Action” feature and the Apple preset, but it is very slow. Matrox MAX speeds it up to real time encoding.
I think the easiest way to get your HD video to DVD is to export a self-contained file of your edit, bring that into Compressor and apply the Apple Disc Burning DVD presets. The resulting video and audio files should import to DVDSP just fine. But your not going to be happy with the loss in quality.

I had this problem once. It was wierd, it’s like I could “hear the cut” even though there is no change in the audio through the video-only angle change. I just created a new multicam clip, it was fine, deleted the old one and was on my way.
So, apparently it was a glitch with the multicam clip itself, not the original media. Fortunately I had only done a couple cuts before starting over.
Did you just uncheck the audio effect in the inspector, and then it was fine? Because I’ve used all three of those audio enhancements at one time or another in multicam clips without issue.

When you place a new clip onto the timeline, it does not need to be rendered, correct? If it does, your settings don’t actually match perfectly.
As well as setting unlimited RT, quality dynamic, and frame rate full, a nice trick is to open the quickview window. You can adjust effects during playback in realtime.

No problem, that’s how I got used to it but now it the skimmer is just instinctive to me and I love it.

Just move your mouse cursor off of the timeline, so the skimmer isn’t showing in the timeline when you hit play, it will play from the playheads position.
Audio skimming is enabled/disabled with the button next to the skimmers toggle.

I think that it is actually Motion 4 on the dock but with the new icon by mistake, when using “send to motion” and Motion opens, does it look like the same old motion or new and unfamiliar to you? Try removing motion from the dock, then open the applications folder in finder and move Motion 5 into a new folder called Motion 5. Then rename the App, then put them both on the dock.

Haha, yeah. Legacy, or some call it legend. Either way, seems like a good fit to me. I think of it more as pre-FCPX, rather than FCP 7 specifically… and find it somewhat endearing of the software.
Not that the term or being EOL’d and replaced makes the software any less capable than it has been for years.
